Headwaters             About me

I am born and raised small-town in rural northwestern Pennsylvania- my family's small farm connected me to earth, water, nature, beauty, rot, life, and death.  My wife and I lived briefly in the spendid Shenandoah regions of Virginia. Now I own a small, hobby farm near my home town and remain connected to my rural upbringing. Nature has been my passion and is at the root of my essential understanding of everything around me.

I graduated with honors in 2004 from West Middlesex Jr./Sr. High School. I took several years working a full-time midnight factory job before attending Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania. Graduated with honors in 2013, Secondary English Education.

I currently am teaching English at a County Vocation and Technical Center school, a co-adviser of their Conservation Club, and spending my leisure time in the activities I enjoy - Spending time with my wife (Connie) and  son (River Richard), enjoying the small farm, fishing, hunting, reading, and writing.

I consider Nature Writing to be my passion, but writing in any genre and style a pleasant challenge and experience.
