Spring Haiku

The nice days are starting to appear and thaw the winter away. My wife and I meticulously worked on the front and side of the house last summer to save and spread her grandmother's flower bulbs which have come from the farmhouse she was raised in, remove all the weeds, and present the house in a way that was a tribute to her grandparents and a way to make the old farmhouse our own. The first blooms are coming through, snowdrops and crocus are starting to bring life and color to the entrances of our home.
The crocus emerge,
through the frosted mud of March,
graceful violet blooms.
